Details: Members of the CCHAO presented their horse to the public showcasing the beauty and versatility of the Canadian Horse. Demonstrations included western riding, dressage, driving and liberty and tricks.

Highly respected horsewoman Shirley Cane will be the clinic leader. She has bred, raised, and shown Welsh ponies with great success for many years. Her ponies have won at the Royal Agricultural Fair many times. For over 30 years, Shirley has owned and managed Hoskins stables where she continues to offer lessons in English riding, Western riding, and Driving. Her keen eye for detail and her dedication to clients learning to ride or drive their horse to the best of their ability makes Shirley a highly sought-after instructor.
Horses will be provided but if you wish to bring your own, please contact Gail Brandt

If you have friends who own horses belonging to other breeds who would like to attend the clinic and luncheon, they are most welcome to participate.

Event: Official kick off meeting to launch the CCHAO

Details: Individuals met in Cobourg and officially approved a new constitution, a membership fee schedule, and a code of conduct for members. They also elected the inaugural board of directors.
Event: Kick off meeting to discuss a new association

Location: Peterborough, Ontario
Details: A group of Canadian horse breeders, owners, and enthusiasts residing in Ontario met in Peterborough to discuss the possibility of establishing a new provincial association. At that meeting, there was overwhelming support for the creation of a group to be called Cheval Canadien Horse Association Ontario (CCHAO), and it was agreed that a follow-up meeting would be held in the Fall.
